Front End Architecture: Innovative Approach to Meet Customer Needs 2000-01-1079
Front End Modules are on the way to becoming an automotive standard. The ability to have a module which can gather many functions, can be assembled in a single step on the car, and provide cost savings involved by this approach are the reason of the success. The solutions that can be designed depend greatly on the car manufacturers, their specifications, their assembly plants and their technologic culture. The assembly of the module itself and the way it is introduced on the main assembly line is of particular importance. Taken into account in the early phase of the project, this design for assembly approach is very important for a successful implementation of a front end module.
