International Space Station Environmental Control and Life Support System - Verification and Test Program for the United States Laboratory Element 2000-01-2294

The United States (U.S.) Laboratory (Flight 5A) Environmental Control and Life Support (ECLS) System is comprised of six subsystems: Atmosphere Control and Supply, Atmosphere Revitalization, Fire Detection and Suppression, Temperature and Humidity Control, Vacuum System, and Water Recovery and Management. These subsystems serve as the U.S. complement to the International Space Station (ISS) ECLS system and will maintain the habitable short-sleeve working environment for the crew. This paper provides a summary of the U.S. Laboratory ECLS system and the detailed element verification methodology leading to government acceptance.
