Numerical study of separated flow around rear of road vehicle 2000-05-0256
Separated flow about after-body of automobile is numerically calculated and studied 3-dimension, time-dependent full Navier-Stokes simulation using SGS (Sub-Grid-Scale) turbulence model is carried out for automobile shape with various after-body configuration. The present paper treats time-average of the unsteady flow-field obtained by the computation. The computer results are validated by comparison with experiment in the wind tunnel and water-basin. As a result, fundamental reliability and the effectiveness of the present computation are shown.
