A considerable amount of automotive components are cast.
Increasing competitiveness in the automotive industry requires shortening of lead-time, increased quality at reduced costs.
To achieve these results in a foundry environment, traditional approach of “error and try” cannot be used. A new approach must be implemented: “right the first time”.
To be successful requires not only the adoption of new technologies, like CAD/CAM/CAE, but real integration and commitment of all departments, which finally will lead to an environment where real continuous improvement can be reached.
