In the near future, the automobile will certainly become an integral part of this enhanced information society. As traditional car electronics are transformed by the new information exchange mechanism, its architecture must adapt to the new information paradigms. However, car specific unique properties remain valid in order to preserve the car's quality, longevity, safety and security at affordable cost.
