Environmental Real World Usage Profiles - An Application in the Development of a Combined Environmental Reliability Test for Headlamps 2004-01-1759
The Combined Environmental Reliability Test (CERT) is an essential part of today's product development process. This paper presents scenarios of customer usage and factors that should be considered during the development of CERTs for headlamps using Real World Usage Profiles (RWUP). Some of the factors considered are vehicles' drive-duration and headlamp on/off duration over 10-year life cycle; underhood temperature, ambient temperature, sunload, humidity and, car wash frequency.
