Engine Mount Simulation Tool by Ease of Use 2004-32-0066
Reduction of noise and vibration is an important issue since the demand for comfort has been increasing for small engine products such as ATVs (all-terrain vehicles, ), golf cars, generators, outboard motors, and motorcycles. Engine rubber mounting is an effective method to decrease the noise and vibration, but it is difficult and time-consuming task to optimize the rubber mount for a specific product without real-time simulation. This paper describes an efficient simulation tool by ease of use for engine mounting. This tool makes engineers enable to estimate the vibration level of an engine mount system quickly at the early design stage, and to improve their products for better NVH (Noise/Vibration/Harshness) design in much shorter time. Examples are shown with the simulated and experimental results.
