Composite CVT And Its Application In Hybrid Electric Vehicle 2004-40-0053
A new sort of composite CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) systems or CCVTs, featuring divergent and dualmode convergent power flow fore and aft, capable of upgrading CVT’s power transmittability, efficiency and variable speed range, is presented in this paper. Especially, it is highly advantageous to substitute the CCVT for the planetary mechanism used to be adopted in the power-split type of HEVs (Hybrid Eelectric Vehicles). Working principle of such new mechatronic assemblies is detailedly analyzed, general and key points for its design and realization are also discussed, its technical features and applied perspective are thus initially revealed.
