ODEEP - Open Dependable Electrical and Electronics Platform – Concept and Projects 2005-01-1284
A Swedish Initiative, Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems, IVSS, [1] together with the Swedish Agency for Business Development, VINNOVA, is funding research, advanced research and development projects with a focus on vehicle functions that will improve the safety of the car as a whole. This includes functions from crash avoidance to by-wire systems. Another goal for the IVSS framework is to attract vehicle suppliers from the automotive and aerospace industries to take an active part in these projects.
An Open Dependable Electrical and Electronics Platform (ODEEP) is an enabler which makes it possible for many projects to interact. This will facilitate analyses and comparisons between different IVSS projects and other initiatives, such as the EC funded (IP) project DECOS [2] and other initiatives such as AUTOSAR [3][4].
ODEEP will let universities, the automotive industry, tool manufacturers and others have access to a dependable, common, open, automotive grade electrical and electronics platform, which will initiate future research projects and integrate new technical solutions into vehicles.
