Temperature and Flow Rate Measurements with the Thermal Transient Anemometer 2005-01-2030
The basic elements of the Thermal Transient Anemometer (TTA) have been presented by Foss, et al. (Meas. Sci. Technology, 12, 2004). This measurement system has been developed to identify the spatially averaged temperature and the similarly averaged velocity over “cells” or segments of a flow area. Specific applications include underhood cooling airflows and HVAC flow paths. Advancements in the temperature measurements and the anemometer's velocity transfer function at different ambient temperature conditions are reported in this paper.
