Optimizing Vehicle Sound Packages for Weight and Performance 2005-01-4153

A Sound Package Optimization technique has been developed by RIETER Automotive which takes into account vibration damping, sound insulation and sound absorbing components in a vehicle interior and calculates their combined effect, thus enabling the use of synergies between e.g. esthetics and acoustics for acoustic trim parts. It is possible to simulate the vehicle acoustic performance for the combined effect of the components.
The Sound Package Optimization has been developed on in car acoustic components and allows for realistic simulations. Its efficiency has been proven on numerous vehicle examples.
In the presentation the acoustic mechanisms will be explained, and examples will be given.
The computer assisted technique allows to simulate and optimize packages on computer, thus saving development time.
