Combustion Modelling of Soot and Radiation with Dynamic Mesh in CI Engines 2006-01-1386
In the development of diesel engines, the emission of soot particulates from their exhausts is a major concern. Presently, the understanding of formation and control of the soot particulates is widely investigated. CFD represents a major step forward with respect to geometric flexibility in moving mesh calculations. In the first step, combustion models in the diesel engines with the effects of radiation and soot formation have been introduced. In the second step our work has become more complete and more efficient with the use of dynamic mesh for the moving piston in the cylinder. There are several methods for combustion modelling in the diesel engines but our work is based on a method that is called non-premixed combustion.
