Plastic Gearing for Small Engine Applications 2006-32-0038
This paper presents a unique methodology for designing plastic gears to enhance strength and life while allowing size and wear reduction. This new approach, tradenamed Direct Gear Design (DGD), optimizes the gear geometry to impart superior drive performance versus traditional gear design methods. This paper explains this alternative approach and demonstrates its effectiveness in several small engine applications.
