Advanced On-/Offboard Diagnostics for a Fuel Cell Vehicle Fleet 2008-01-0464

Daimler has been involved in fuel cell technology for more than 15 years and has released the largest vehicle fleet of zero emission fuel cell vehicles in the world with a total of more than 100 vehicles. Over 3,6 million kilometers have been accumulated by June of 2007. In order to gain the most experience for future fuel cell vehicle development based on the real-world data from these vehicles offboard and onboard diagnostics methods have been developed. The aim of these diagnostics methods is to estimate aging and wear and tear effects in the fuel cell propulsion system over the course of its lifetime.
