The Use of Experimental Transfer Path Analysis in a Road Vehicle Prototype Having Independent Sources 2008-36-0555
A development concerning the use of Transfer Path Analysis as an identification technique is considered. A purpose built prototype has been used in the present study with the objective of evaluating the contributions of structure-borne and air-borne contributions to the global noise arriving at a typical motor car cockpit. The also described direct measurement techniques, developed for the present work, produce results, which are then compared with those obtained using TPA techniques. This comparison indicates that this development is a promising tool for the characterisation of full-scale structure-borne and air-borne noise paths in vehicles.
