This component is usually made of thin sheet steel or cast alloy, although there are also high-performance oil pans that are made from billet aluminum or magnesium alloy . Nowadays Automobile part manufacturers are manufacturing new generation plastic oil pans to reduce weight and manufacturing cost with same performance as of metal pan.
