Bearing Life Evaluation for Automotive Wheel Bearings using Design of Experiments 2018-01-1903
The automotive wheel bearing is one of important components in vehicle to translate the rotating motion and bear the weight. Bearing life is affected by many parameters such as bearing geometry, bearing specification, vehicle specification, driving conditions, lubrication conditions, material properties, and so on. In this paper, the bearing life was evaluated using design of experiments. It was calculated proposed by international standard and factors influencing on bearing life were investigated.The results showed that contact angle and inner curvature affected the bearing life significantly and they were linearly proportional.
