In the age of 4th industrial revolution, Operational and Information Technologies are increasingly getting converged to help organizations to improve their topline through new innovative products and services. Organizations are able to improve bottom line by improving efficiencies through this transformation which is driven by convergence of many advanced technologies such as Advanced Sensors, Communication Technologies, Big Data, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Virtual and Augmented Reality. New age Enterprises Digitization strategy journey continues to adopt technology lead multi-pronged approach to achieve their near-term and long-term goals. Aerospace and defense industry is dynamic and continuously evolving. It has stringent quality and production requirements to ensure consistency, reliability, and performance of products. The key is to improve the product quality and operational efficiency to achieve manufacturing goals and remaining viable and competitive in today's dynamic and competitive market. Important levers to help achieve complete production floor digitalization and become a smart factory, are (a) intelligent management of critical shop-floor assets such as time sensitive raw-material, kits, molds, tools and workforce, and (b) sophisticated algorithms that are able to suggest the next steps by raising context-aware alerts and recommendations to staff powered by AI and data analytics allowing not only greater visibility but also enhanced assets' allocation and utilization for increased capacity and on-time, on-quality deliveries using a reliability based AI framework to address system level challenges. This paper summarizes the Infosys journey in Industry 4.0, its relevance and applications to aerospace through specific use cases. It also summarizes how Industry 4.0 concepts can be applied to a composite shop floor of aerospace components, how effective convergence of IoT, Analytics, AI & Machine Learning and AR/VR help in improving the overall equipment efficiency, reliability, availability and quality of the production by monitoring real time data to evaluate the overall performance of manufacturing plant "As Designed" Vs "As Operational" quantifying the business value.
