Effect of fabrics parameters on Electrostatic charge generation phenomena 2019-01-0464
Electrostatic charge generation in the fabric is a very common phenomenon. In the polyester fabrics the electrostatic charge generation and its tendency to transfer it to the human body is more prevalent as compared to other type of fabrics. The phenomenon causes dust attraction to its surface, clinginess, uncomfortable shocks to the human body.
As it is very prevalent in polyester fabrics, it plays a very important role in terms of automotive fabrics. The electrostatic charge generation in the fabrics depends on various parameters e.g. construction of the fabrics, types of yarns, types of coating in the yarns and types of fabric finishes.
Many phenomenon of human body getting charged due to rubbing by the textile have been observed with respect to automotive seats. This electrostatic charge generation is also a key factor in terms of defining the comfort parameters of the fabrics.
The study will be focussed to study various contributing factors and to provide a solution to the same keeping a balance between the technical aspect and aesthetic aspect of the fabric
