Aerodynamic characteristics Simulation of heavy commercial vehicles Passing through Expressway Tunnel in cross wind 2019-01-0666
Taking into account the influence of crosswind on the aerodynamic characteristics of vehicles passing through high-speed road tunnel, this paper uses STAR CCM+ software overset grid technology to carry out CFD simulation analysis on the aerodynamic characteristics of heavy commercial vehicles passing through highway tunnel with cross-wind. Corresponding aerodynamic coefficients and flow field changes around the body at different crosswind speeds and different tunnel forms. The results show that aerodynamic characteristics of heavy commercial vehicles passes through the tunnel, the lateral wind increases by one wind level, and its yaw moment change rate increases from 34.8kN▪m/s to 45.9kN▪m/s,the increase rate reached 31.9%, and Vehicle yaw moment is sensitive to side wind speed. In the process of passing two consecutive tunnels, heavy commercial vehicles cause periodic changes in the flow field around the vehicle, which leads to the direction of the lateral force, roll moment and yaw moment of the vehicle is changed.
