Model-based development design for a continuously variable discharge oil pump 2019-01-0764
Recently, for a purpose of a protection of an environment, the regulation of automobile fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission has been strengthened. In light of such circumstances, automobile parts are generally required to be able to improve fuel efficiency and exhaust gas emission.
In order to meet such requirements, a device structure has become complicated. Therefore, a redesign will harm the development period and cost efficiency seriously in products that are becoming increasingly complex in the future. Since it has been difficult to find out, the best design parameter that satisfies the following two important design elements , we have been experienced to meet redesign of oil pump.
(i) Change amount of oil pressure when variable
(ii) Response speed of changing oil pressure under variable operation
In order to overcome such requirements, we are introducing an original 1D Model-Based Development (MBD) tool using an unsteady calculation in our design process. As a result, we were able to configure an original MBD tool with high speed nonlinear stiff ordinary differential equations. In this article, we are introducing our original MBD tool with an actual case example.
