Research and development of an electromagnetic actuated active suspension 2019-01-0858
Electromagnetic actuated active suspension benefits quick response and energy harvesting from vibration at the same time. Benchmarked with luxury cars available on the market, design parameters and design boundary are determined. A prototype of electromagnetic actuator is built utilizing permanent magnet synchronous motor and a test bench of quarter car suspension is set up. A μ synthesis controller is developed to achieve good ride comfort and a μ synthesis controller is developed to achieve good stability. Test result show that good ride comfort could be achieved with minor energy consumption and good stability could be achieved with energy regeneration at the same time.
