Vision system for detecting a small object at far range 2019-01-0886
We are developing a vision system detecting a traffic cone and other fallen objects on the road at far ranges for automatic detouring. This will support auntonomous driving on highway for detouring the accident areas. The system consists of a monocular camera. The camera has a narrow view angle and 1 or 2 mega pixels for higher resolution at far ranges. The algorithm detecting and ranging the object is based on the range-windows, by which the range of the cones is estimated. Here the camera system, the window algorithm and the test results are explained.
