Necessity of Advance Damper Technology for Future Agriculture Domain 2019-26-0193

Significant rise in demand from the end-user in terms of long clutch durability, reduction of driver fatigue and so on are evident. Tractor manufacturers are aggressively moving towards the Wet Clutch Pack with conventional damper to meet the customer needs.
In the Conventional Damper, there is a technical challenge like withstanding of the sudden impacts from the implements, whichever essential for performing field operations, in addition to, the torsional vibrations produced by the power-train.
With a lot of existing constraints, a conventional damper cannot be optimized further without getting compromised in important parameters like factor of safety, noise and durability issues. The next generation damper technology that can hold good in all these adversities has become necessary to ensure smooth and durable power transmission in tractors.
This case study has been done with help of SCHAEFFLER’s tailor made “Tornado Instrument” and “Software” by acquiring massive amount of real time data (directly from agricultural field) from the several OEMs followed by quantitative analysis such a sudden impact, and addressed this issue with next generation damper technology.
