Design, Synthesis and Analysis of loader bucket, boom and linkages for amphibious infantry combat vehicle. 2019-28-0124
The paper discusses about the design synthesis and development of dozer bucket mechanism which will be a single unit to perform dozing and loading operation and will be connected to the amphibious infantry combat vehicle for various military activities such as construction of bridges, digging trenches, construction of roads, and clearing the area during landslides. Currently, separate unit for bulldozer for dozing operation and loader for loading operation are required. But the need was to develop a single unit which could perform both of these operations efficiently. Research and development efforts initiated to carry out synthesis of mechanism (Linkages and Boom) which will fulfil the above stated functional requirement and satisfy the geometrical constraints. The synthesis of mechanism is done with help of ‘CATIA’ software packages. The force calculation on various joints at the different position of mechanism has evaluated with the help of ’ADAMS’ software. The finite element analysis is done using software ’ANSYS’. The developed mechanism combines the dozing and loading operation and connected to the tracked vehicle. It also satisfied geometrical constraints i.e. able to move 150 mm below and 1900 mm above the ground level, able to move within 7 seconds between these extreme positions, Bucket is moving up to 1.9m of height above the ground and can dump the soil at an angle greater than 450.
