Development of New Hybrid System for Mid-size SUV 2020-01-0842

Fuel economy and emission regulations for LDT are becoming restrictive year by year. At the same time, amount of Mid-size SUV demands are increasing all over the world. The Toyota hybrid system continues make advance to meet fuel economy regulations in order to push forward vehicle electrification for 2050 rapidly. The evolution of the hybrid technology is one of our significant tasks. The renovated hybrid system for the brand-new Highlander was developed to meet worldwide regulations and amazing fuel economy with affordable price. We believe that this technology is really necessary not only to continue expanding SUV sales in the world, but also to keep environmental impact to a minimum. This paper explains the environmental performance and technologies of the renovated hybrid system developed for the brand-new highlander comparing with RAV4 hybrid system specifications.
