Implementation of IOT based vehicular communication 2020-01-0938
The automobile industry is on the brink of a revolution and the driving force behind this is the fast-developing technology, the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT will transform the automobile industry and at the same time, automobile industry will provide a great impetus to IoT. The potential and the prospects of this technology is astonishing. However, for this to materialize, all vehicles will have to be equipped with compatible wireless module which implements an intelligent transport system. In this work, we mainly focus on an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) that provides an effective vehicular communication (V2V) with the help of rapid advancement of wireless communication technology specifically, IoT. The main objective of this work is to send and receive information using wireless communication and avoid the possibilities of roadway collisions with the help of the data they have got. This data includes speed, location, direction of travel and braking. We propose a Blind-spot detection system and Lane changing warning system based on various machine learning algorithms. Machine learning techniques are adopted to classify and train dataset generated through extensive simulation based on the vehicular network environment. A real-time web-server is also implemented with the help of IoT that monitors the condition of the car while driving and sends the location if an accident occurs. Finally, with the help of fully working prototype, including the software implementation and the hardware configuration we show how the vehicular network behaves in a real scenario.
