Influence of surface roughness on Al/SiO2 composite materials using the Taguchi Method 2020-28-0426
This article analyzes the wire EDM (WEDM) processing parameters and minimizes Surface roughness (Ra). The Aluminum (Al) composite was produced with 10 wt. % SiO2 by stir casting. The vital parameters (pulse on time, pulse off time and current) influencing the response were carefully considered for optimization process. The orthogonal L9 section of Taguchi was applied as the model of the experiment to execute the optimization process. Significant parameters affecting the quality of the Ra were found out using the statistical tool called Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The affirmation test was performed to approve the test outcome. The outcomes uncovered that the pulse off time (44.69%) is the most overwhelming element influencing the nature of surface harshness pursued by current (14%) and pulse on time (4.58%).It can be reasoned that the Ra can be limited with this technique.
