Test Procedure Proposal for EV Power Measurement on Dynamometers 2021-24-0104
Power measuring based on chassis dynamometers allow the calculation of the vehicle motor power based only on wheel power measuring. Power and emission measuring have a long tradition in the history of combustion engine driven vehicles. Power measuring of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles however is less common and the treatment of the measurement data must receive special attention due to the different drivetrains. The basic relations are summarized and applied to an electric vehicle to demonstrate the differences to the conventional combustion engine drivetrain. Based on the processed measurement data, a first proposal for a standardized test procedure for EVs is presented.
