Research on Editing and Extrapolation Methods of Load Spectrum for Drive Shafts with Multiple Influencing Factors 2023-01-1140

The durability of a drive shaft is affected by three factors: torque, rotational speed and operating angle. The acquisition and editing of load spectrum for drive shafts are the basis for the research of the drive shaft durability. Taking the acquisition and editing of a load spectrum of a drive shaft for an all-terrain vehicle as a studying object, the acquisition method and preprocessing method of the load spectrum of a drive shaft are proposed. Three load spectrum editing methods are used to edit the acquired load spectrum, namely damage retention editing method, short-time Fourier transform editing method and wavelet transform editing method. Three editing methods are used to obtain the time-reduced load spectrum of the drive shaft, and the time-reduced load spectrum is evaluated in the amplitude and frequency domains compared with the original load spectrum. Based on the Generalized Pareto Distribution, an extrapolation method for drive shaft load spectrum is proposed. The load spectrum acquired from the real vehicle and the extrapolated load spectrum are compared and analyzed in the amplitude domain and the frequency domain, respectively. The results demonstrate the accuracy of the extrapolation method. The research on the editing method and extrapolation method of the drive shaft load spectrum in this paper is of great significance to the research on the durability performance of the drive shaft.
