This paper presents the reliability programs undertaken by Martin-Denver Div. while developing the various Titan missile systems. The history and development of these reliability programs and their effect on management decisions and upon actual system hardware are discussed.
A summary of tasks to be accomplished for the engineering portion of the Reliability Program for Titan I and Titan II are analyzed. By developing a better insight into “Practice Reliability” and a careful analysis of design “Inherent Reliability” one can come up with a fairly accurate forecast of “Achieved Reliability” in product development.
