Reliability Analysis and Prediction for Turbojet Engines - Results versus Needs 640579
The reliability design review is an effective tool in assisting designers towards achieving higher levels of reliability early in the program. The designer in the end is solely responsible for the reliability achievement of his component. In this context reliability activities of the sort described in this paper are a service to the design engineer in achieving his goals. Three reliability prediction techniques and typical examples of the achieved results of each are described:
1.
Controls and accessories reliability design review practices and results of the 1959–60 era.
2.
Mechanization of the routine aspects of the reliability design review procedure.
3.
Probabilistic approach to failure rate estimation of basic engine structural parts.
