Some Considerations of Automobile Lift and Drag 650135

The drag of automobiles is shown in comparison to that of various ideal shapes, and the factors contributing to this drag are examined. It is shown that rough estimates of automobile drag coefficients can be made from an analysis of the shapes of the vehicles. The problem of automobile lift is also discussed from the standpoint of shape, proximity to ground, and boundary layer development.
