Three hydraulic circuits for forage harvesting equipment are discussed: engine driven pump circuit, header and chopper feed drive, and hydrostatic traction drive. All drives are on current production models of Lowe harvesters. It has been found that the flexibility offered means added performance and production, easier machine control, and reduced maintenance.
Details and advantages of each circuit are outlined.
