Prospects of Electrical Power for Vehicles 680541

A rational assessment of battery and fuel cell systems, presently available as well as undergoing development in the laboratory, shows little promise for significant early broad application to vehicle propulsion. Limited production of low performance battery powered cars can be expected, but only if given sufficient incentive. There is little reason why batteries should not be used to power urban delivery vans and postal delivery trucks, however.
