Torsional Vibration of a Rotating Tapered-Twisted Turbomachine Blade 700180
This paper treats the torsional vibration of a rotating tapered and twisted turbomachine blade. Carnegie's formulation of the Lagrange equations of motion is used and the set of field equations solved using Myklestad's adaptation of the Holzer method. Digital computer results are presented for a particular turbine blade, demonstrating the convergence of the method and the satisfaction of the boundary conditions of the problem.
The equations and methodology required to construct a digital computer program, in order to obtain a numerical solution to the problem, have been derived.
