FAA Certification and the Growth Model 747B Airplane 710753

The certification of an aircraft model is the culmination of many hours of effort by both the manufacturer and the certifying agency.
A successful certification effort is dependent, in great part, on establishing clear channels of communication between both parties. Probably in no other human accomplishment is the need for effective communication so demanding in so many different fields of knowledge as in the certification of the modern airplane. The certification of the 747B growth airplane is used as an example in this discussion of properly utilized communications.
