Design and Development of the Funk 1000 Transmission 720387
Some of the design decisions made in the Funk 1000 transmission are reviewed in this paper.
The gear and shafting arrangement and clutch shaft are described, and power flow is detailed. The design of the torque converter to accommodate both an automotive and industrial converter is explained, as are the operation of the hydraulic circuit and clutch construction. Gear and bearing life is considered, and developmental testing to evaluate performance and reliability is reported.
