The submarine has been developed to the point where its application as an undersea carrier of oil can be assessed as not only technically feasible but as a practical and reliable means of transport of crude oil from Northern Alaskan or Canadian Arctic regions to the North Atlantic. The description of a nuclear submarine tanker of high deadweight tonnage specifically designed for Arctic oil transport service is presented, including discussion of salient features of such a proposed design.
