A Reliability Oriented Approach to the Design of Off-Highway Steering Systems 730769

Four different off-highway truck hydraulic steering systems with varying complexity are presented. The reliability of each type of system is compared showing the effects of redundancy of components. The importance of system configuration is brought out to offset the adverse effects of a low reliability component.
