It explains why an approach to operating at less than maximum takeoff thrust has been developed. It demonstrates the effects of monitored thrust on power plants, operating temperatures, and training procedures. Lastly, the paper explains how monitored thrust will produce an improvement in the environment and how it achieves an incremental saving in fuel.
