Vehicle Controllability and Human Response Characteristics 760780

This paper outlines a method for predicting the controllability of a given vehicle through the use of a dynamic model of that vehicle and the response characteristics of a driver, both of which have been developed by the author.
The driver's response characteristics consist of his sensitivity to the degree of a vehicle's deviation from its course, its deviation velocity and deviation acceleration.
This simulation model has proven to be appropriate by comparing the simulation computation results with actual test results of lane changing, slaloming and behavior against side wind.
