An on-board system utilizing a general purpose microcomputer has been developed to monitor, record and display parametric data relative to truck function, condition and performance. The system provides a means to identify the performance signature of an individual truck in its operational environment over the road. It further provides a means to record this performance signature, track it with time and detect deterioration prior to breakdown.
