The Arctic Gas Pipeline and Its Specialized Equipment Requirements 770535
In the fall of 1977 the governments of both the United States and Canada will make decisions concerning the transport of Arctic gas to southern markets. The Arctic Gas Proposal, which is the only one permitting Alaskan and Canadian gas to move through one system, is compared to others submitted for their consideration. The need for building the Arctic pipeline is discussed and the plans for its construction are outlined. The development of the Banister 812, an Arctic ditcher designed specifically to meet the requirements of this project, is also described.
