Automatic Actuation of the Auxiliary Brake in the Two-Circuit Air Brake System 785118
The work presented above concerns the new control method of the
auxiliary brakes in air brake systems. This design consists in the
application of the automatic protection valve operating on the
spring actuators at the axle equipped with the failured circuit.
Thus the automatic protection valve substitutes the hand valve of
the auxiliary brake.
In the work has been executed the critical evaluation of the
existing arrangements with hand operated control valve and
presented the characteristics of the pressure dependences in
control system, of the reaction time of the brakes and of the
effectiveness obtained in the initial testing in comparison with
the conventional control system.
