The correct integration of the Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), into an aircraft will provide the best performance that a system can produce. Improper integration of the AFCS, along with poor installation practices, account for the majority of problems.
The Avionics subsystems are becoming increasingly complex, using digital designs, and the components used are much more fragile than in previous avionics.
The AFCS integration requirements must include consideration of regulatory requirements, location of the equipment, installation design criteria, human factors, sensor installation tolerances, interfaces with aircraft systems, and customer special requirements.
