Numerical Procedure for Designing Rolling Element Contact Geometry as a Function of Load Cycle 850764

A numerical procedure is discussed for designing the contact geometry in a tapered roller bearing to maximize fatigue life. Effects of load, misalignment, and severity of the operating environment are included. Several examples illustrating the significance of the load cycle are included.
