We introduced motorcycles which adopted an electric fuel injection system to the market for the first time in history and have developed our unique DFI (Digital Fuel Injection) and put it to practical use. This new system has been applied to those models fitted with a turbocharger.
Our research and development efforts, aiming at improving throttle response and optimizing air:fuel ratio control, started as far back as 15 years ago in the form of our mechanical fuel injection system. This report will describe the history of the research and development that led to the DFI, while briefly looking at its functions and effects.
