This paper discusses how the preselection and adjustment of the parameters of the power-train should be carried out. It explains the basic theory of obtaining optimum fuel economy and optimum dynamic performance. In order to realize an optimum shift schedule, a solution is provided by an automated form using microcomputer technology, to achieve the best technical performance of the automobile at all times.
The methods and conclusions provided in this paper are also applicable to the traditional semi-automatic gear-box and automatic gear-box with electronic control.
