ABSTRACT

Semiconductor technology has played a major role in the development of automotive electronics. And sensors are also becoming increasingly important in the search for optimal automotive electronics systems.

This paper describes about the requirements for sensors from the standpoint of the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and system design.

Discussions are focussed on recent developments in Japan regarding the measurement of intake air, air/fuel ratio, speed and distance and on the future of sensors.
